Who Had The Most Influence In Your Life?
I was thinking today about who, of all the people I have come into contact with, has had the most influence in my life.
I thought on this, last night, and picked up where I left of this morning. I'm going to say this is one of the hardest questions to answer. I don't have a clue why I thought this one up.
Just who has had the most influence?
Honestly, it would be hard to narrow it down to a single person. I think it would be easier to narrow it down to periods in my life. As a child, by far my grandmother. She taught me love, and nurture. She taught me faith, she taught me trust through her actions. I could always count on her. There are days, even as old as I am, that I would love to sit in her lap and have a word or two with her. I always knew everything would be ok.
As a teenager, who had the most influence? TOUGH!
I'm going to say two ladies, Terri and Susan. They always cared enough to read between the lines. They put up with the insaneness of being a teenager, and the always believed in me. The helped me to believe in me.
Early Adulthood, who had the most influence?
Mike, my dear therapist. There aren't enough words of praise for this gentleman. I think I could write a book on our journey to freedom, and peace. He was slow to label, but always willing to seek out the possibilities. He was the kind who, on his time even, would call at 10, 11, and 12 at night because he was truely worried about his clients. He didn't mind, it was what he did, and he loved every minute of it. He was the kind that knew all sorts of tricks to help you calm down, remember, and all the things you need to do to go on in life. He knew the tricks all of them. He was indeed the best there is.
Who in the latter of the early, has had the most influence?
Since, I'm venturing there now I must say there are three people. My dear spouse, who loves me no matter what crazy thing in conjour up. Then there are two sisters, that have absolutely made me want to do better in life. They are not perfect, but they are genuine. They shine light and they aren't even aware of it. They work good into so many people's lives, and they love doing it. They are my role models today, I'd have to say. I learn an incredible amount from them.
They are blessings in disguise.
In all the people I know, and will meet, and will be my big influences of tomorrow I will never forget these people here. I didn't name them all, but they all have had a tremendous impact on my life. They are why I am here, and they make my life liveable, happy, and fun.
This is probably an odd entry, but I wanted to write about them. Mike, I want to write personally and send him a winning lottery ticket. When life crumbles, I alwys want to go back to that dear soul. I just live too far away now. I owe him, he was just excellent. My two friends, if they stumbled on this and knew I was talking about them, I'd probably deny it. But, it will still ring true they are making a diffence in the here and now. I hope everyone has a big infuence in their life.
So who has had the biggest influence in your life? I'd love to hear.

Sassy, you make me have to work here as hard as you worked to come up with your entry.
I never had a relationship with my grandparents. I lived too far away from them. I did however, have somewhat of a bit of a relationship later in my adulthood with my paternal grandmother. I'll talk a bit about her later.
As a 4th grade girl I struggled majorly in school. I had one teacher who in 4th grade who work her backside off to help me. Her name was Mrs. Madgrical. All the kids called her Mrs Magical because they couldn't say her name correctly. I remember giggling about it as a girl. Well, Mrs Madgrical helped me with my math so I could pass to 5th grade.
I don't remember anyone significant until I was a teenager and lived in another state. There was a neighbor man who attended the same church as I did. He basically lived next door to me. I remember day after day he would sit in my back yard and talk with me like a father would talk to his daughter about life and was such a wonderful man. I'll call him Mr. A. He was married with children. He had a time playing with his own children. I loved watching them in their yard. He was a stronghold for me at times.
As a young adult I met one woman that I became best friends with, Jamie. We just by each other's sides for years. She ended up moving almost 2 hrs away and I only got to see her about once a month. She had children close to my own daughter's age. We talked about faith matters and attended church together. I love her so much. And now today, she won't have anything to do with me. She blocked her phone from my number so I can't even call her. I'm heartbroken over this break up. I do not understand why she has done this. Somewhere in that relationship another one slipped in to take over when the other moved away. This was Wilma. She was someone I could talk to and share all of life with. We went everywhere together. She was my adopted Auntie. God rest her soul, she past away a few years back.
Also, as a young adult I was able to communicate with my paternal grandmother. She was quite a soul. She always had cute jokes to make you laugh. She always had wonderful things to say. I was able to spend a small amount of time with her. In doing so we found we had one very big thing in common outside of her son being my father is that we both loved owls. On one such occasion I was visiting her from out of state. When she learned of my love for owls she went through her house pulling off shelves owl figures she had collected over the years. She told me it was time for her to cull some out and start getting some new. She gave me one HUGE box full and I took it to the the mail center & had it shipped via UPS to my home to find it there waiting for me when I arrived home from my trip. I spent all the rest of my adulthood calling her and talking to her until she died 2 yrs ago.
Then upon moving away from that life and moving into the now life, I've met several people online that have impacted me. There was a lady who used to be my old Pastor's wife. She doesn't communicate much anymore. She's a busy lady. I dearly love her and her husband.
I don't know that I've covered all my bases. But God knows that all I've said & done with all these significant people in my life I've done it all in HIS glory.
